I graduated from Texas Tech University with degrees in Spanish, History, and Secondary Education. I returned to school in 2003 to get my masters in Teaching Languages from the University of Southern Mississippi. I started teaching in 1998 and have taught everything from Spanish I to Spanish IV. I love the Spanish culture and language and hope to pass that on to my students!

This class is geared toward communicating in the Spanish language. There is a focus on grammar, reading, and writing, but all to enhance the students' ability to USE the language in a meaningful way. I cannot tell you how many people who, upon meeting me, say "I took two years of Spanish, but I can't say/understand anything!". My aim is for that not to happen with my students. I would like for every single one of them to leave the class with an appreciation of the culture and grasp of the language that will make them better prepared to compete in the increasingly global marketplace.
